CNET review -- some people would question the credibility of the CNET review (which is not on a specialist photography website). For example, tko (dpreview, Panasonic forum, 28 February 2004) wrote...

``Unfortunately, the FZ10's image quality is disappointing. It's generally acceptable but not great. Indoor exposures are OK, but clipping in highlights is really pronounced in outdoor shots; to compensate, we suggest springing for the optional neutral-density filter (DMW-LND72). That should also take care of much of the fringing we saw; overbright edges tend to exacerbate its appearance.''
That blows any credibility, since a neutral density filter won't change the exposure one whit. Setting the EV {exposure value} to -1/3 or 2/3 will help, as everyone on this forum knows.
